August 27 - September 2

As we venture down our own highway of life, we are faced with others who show us new ways to see things, new places we never would have found alone, and new experiences we never would have had without them. This is the beauty of Mars in Libra: celebrating ourselves and the relationships that have made us who we are today. This week puts us more in touch with the confounding ways of mystery and spirit, teaching us that even though we don’t always have the answers, those answers sometimes find us exactly when they are supposed to. This is the magic of the Full Moon in Pisces. May it ease our weary souls and guide us to revelations that yield us to the seas of our dreams.

Sun in Virgo opposite Saturn in Pisces

*Mars ingresses Libra*

Moon in Capricorn trine Jupiter in Taurus

Moon in Capricorn trine Mercury in Virgo

This morning’s Sun-Saturn opposition exemplifies the stark contrast between chaos and order in our lives, and the Capricorn Moon’s harmonious aspects to Jupiter and Mercury in the other two earth signs helps us focus much more on order than chaos. Reeling in the disarray through tried and true methods of organization, purging, and simplification can bring quite a satisfying sense of alignment and clarity to our day (and life) if we prepare and follow through.

Putting forth the effort to chase off the squirmy critters that overly occupy our lives, both in our minds and in our space, will help purify us and allow us to expand our capacity to reach our goals and manifest our dreams more efficiently. There are always ways in which we can enrich our lives to make them more enjoyable and more fulfilling, and when there is an astrological influence of harmony between planets in earth signs, significant progress can be made toward more structure and achievement.

Mars in Libra brings a formidable nudge to how we relate and do harmony in our lives. Though this placement can also cause some formidable nudging between ourselves and loved ones, the broader influence is that of designing our relationships to have ample independence and self-mastery so those relationships can thrive as two wholes loving and respecting one another for their own identities and not slipping into unhealthy co-dependency. We can learn to be proud of all our relations if we put in the effort to sustain them with good communication and breathing room to be ourselves within them.

Moon conjunct Pluto in Capricorn

Moon in Aquarius trine Mars in Libra

The tests we may feel upon waking this morning may be alarming, likely opening our eyes to the daunting realities that lie ahead, and while those feelings can be very important to experience and have valuable lessons tucked within them, they are bound to be short-lived. So, take heart in knowing that life usually provides relief to the depths our thoughts and feelings sometimes take us. What we don’t work out in the dark moments often transforms itself into the light we need to see our way forward.

As soon as Moon slips into progressive and detached Aquarius, it harmoniously trines Mars freshly in Libra. This helps honor the journey of progressing our relationships, and our independence within them, to places we may have been imagining them going. The tendency for emotional detachment can be strong with Aquarius, however, so we must be careful that we are not disregarding or ignoring the importance of communication and teamwork within those relationships. It is a delicate balance that requires tact and respect, but if we exercise both of those attributes, we can glimpse the exciting possibilities that lie ahead for us. Just be mindful of the respect we all deserve at all times.

Moon in Aquarius opposite Venus in Leo

Moon in Aquarius square Jupiter in Taurus

Moon in Aquarius sextile Chiron in Aries

Moon in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus

Moon has quite the array of aspects today, all of which point to the progress we wish to make moving through the challenges that may have upset us lately. Those challenges brought changes, to be sure, and those changes may have been painful or uncomfortable, but when Moon transits Aquarius it provides a window of time to step back from the emotional upheavals and focus on the future.

So often we are mired down by our emotional baggage, over-reflecting upon the pains we have been through and perhaps are still going through, but there can be an uplifting optimism to Aquarius, if not at least an influence to lay down our emotional burdens and step away from them to see more clearly. This tendency is strong today, albeit with some potential opposition from those close to us.

We may wish we were alone today in order to see our path forward with more clarity, so making plans ahead of time to facilitate that might be helpful. But there could inevitably be pushback from others that want to challenge our ideas of progress down the road, so we should be prepared to discuss freely and rise above the emotional swamps of putrid leeches. It is a good day to stand on our proverbial mountaintop with a spyglass to set our course into the future!

Moon in Pisces quincunx (150°) Mars in Libra

Moon conjunct Saturn in Pisces

Mercury in Virgo quincunx (150°) Chiron in Aries

*Full Moon at 7° Pisces (9:36pm EDT)*

The myriad directions we find ourselves needing to follow can feel overwhelming today, but if we reinstate the trust and faith we have found countless times in our years to see us through it all, we can arrive in every one of those directions right on time. The timeless truth that weaves its way through our lives carries with it a torch that knows the way, even when we can’t see it ourselves, so making plans and expecting things to unfold according to them could prove very frustrating today. Better to err on the side of low expectations and hopeful faith.

Synchronicities and serendipities might just crawl out of the woodwork, especially if we find ourselves in a wood-paneled room. Learning from the mysteries that enshroud every moment of time and every point in space helps us develop a deeper appreciation and respect for that force we all share in life: spirit. When the river arrives at the ocean, it is not afraid of its destiny, it simply yields to it. This is how we can navigate the long estuarian swells out to sea today.

We should remember that everyone has suffered, is suffering, and will suffer in their lives. Some of us much more than others, some of us more noticeably than others, some of us more quietly and unknowingly than others. With this in mind, we should be kind, caring, helpful, and compassionate to those we meet on our path. We are all working it out.

The Full Moon in Pisces reminds us again of the ebb and flow of chaos and order. What we don’t understand, in time we will. What we thought made sense may not someday. These paradoxes confound us and make life challenging, but they instigate inquiry into universal truths that teach us the ways of spirit that is life. Whatever we have been seeking to make more sense of may be revealed today through trusting we are exactly where we should be doing exactly what we should be doing.

Moon in Pisces sextile Jupiter in Taurus

Moon in Pisces opposite Mercury in Virgo

Moon in Pisces sextile Uranus in Taurus

As the Pisces Moon begins to wane, it aspects an array of planets in earth signs, thus grounding our resolve to carry on through the overwhelm and potential disillusionments of life. Those disillusionments can depress us and send us into fetal positions under the covers, so we must be privy to their onslaught before they pull us under. And while we may not be able to fully avoid their onslaught, we can rest assured the days that lie ahead are imbued with blessings of hope and redemption.

The opportunities that await us, the refinement necessary to unlock those opportunities, and the prospective enhancements and elevation of our circumstances to initiate growth and an exciting future are all sprinkled into our lives through the grounding aspects the watery Moon makes today. How we participate in the great unfolding of these potentials will determine the degree to which they manifest for us. If we can let go of the confounding drudgery that often clouds our vision we will be better positioned to take part in the glorious future that awaits us. We would do well to pay attention to our dreams tonight as Moon joins dreamy Neptune in dreamy Pisces in the middle of the night.

Moon in Aries opposite Mars in Libra

Moon in Aries semi-sextile (30°) Saturn in Pisces

Mars in Libra quincunx (150°) Saturn in Pisces

Moon’s entry into Aries, initiating new beginnings and an excitable drive to charge forth, is soon confronted with relatively bewildering aspects to Mars and Saturn. While the drive to make the opportunities and enhancements to our lives come to fruition is palpable today, our relationships and shoddy structural integrity may pull us away from that hopeful initiation. It might be difficult to see eye-to-eye with loved ones when it comes to striking a new match on our path, so we may wish to pull back on the reins a bit in order to open up communication lines that allow more clarity and understanding to ensue.

The wherewithal we think we have to make new things start to happen could be delusional or compromised by a lack of sound foundations on which to build upon. So, while we may be feeling excitement for what we are embarking upon, there are important steps to take that we cannot forget to take, which means we must exercise patience and prudence if we are to make substantial headway on whatever it is we are after.

Moon in Aries trine Venus in Leo

Moon conjunct Chiron in Aries

Today we just might find that our loved ones are more on board with our initiatives and desires for independence than they were the day before or many days before. In the same breath, our egos can clash if we are not careful to witness and respect each other’s perspectives, because seldom do our perspectives meld perfectly with those of others. But taking that to heart, being prepared the way astrology can prepare us, and following through with tact and diplomacy is sure to create a win-win situation for all.

As our Saturday trickles by, we can find ourselves revisiting the pains we try so hard to forget and escape from, possibly making for a rather melancholy evening if we don’t have others to lift us up. But as is the way of suffering, there is healing lying in wait if we know where to find it. Stepping back, breathing deeply, assessing what we cannot do about what we have been through and contrasting it with what we can do about where we are going can reveal secrets we might have been seeking for a long time. The journey is long, the path is narrow, and the love that surrounds us is there if we open our hearts to it. May we all turn on our lovelight!

This is a week of stepping back, noticing how we can elevate our situation, letting go and trusting in spirit to guide us, and prudently setting out on a new journey of initiation and healing. While there are always bumps, turns, switchbacks, and detours strewn across our days, weeks, months, and years, there are also seas of glass, freshly paved highways, trails of soft earth, and blue skies through which we can soar to our greatest potential and enlightened destiny.
