October 1-7, 2023

As we ramble through our ever-developing saga this week, we are reminded to embrace the sumptuous delights of our sensuality, the silver linings of righteous relational intentions, the sacredness of healthy loving friendships, and the evolving enigma of supporting others on their journey towards becoming themselves. All of this comes much easier if we practice kindness and forgiveness in order to facilitate redemption and acceptance with greater ease.

Moon conjunct Jupiter in Taurus

Though today only contains one major aspect between planets or luminaries, Moon’s passage through Taurus on its way to Jupiter summons us to focus on the pragmatic financial affairs of our lives and the sustainability of our future. What risks are we taking? What opportunities have presented themselves to us? Weighing the pros and cons of however many ideas we have for our future can help us narrow down our options by weeding out the ideas that are just too outlandish or not lucrative enough. Considering the risks involved in certain ideas allows us to grasp the likelihood of putting our energy into it or not.

Mercury in Virgo opposite Neptune in Pisces

Moon conjunct Uranus in Taurus

Moon in Taurus square Venus in Leo, sextile Neptune in Pisces, trine Mercury in Virgo, and trine Pluto in Capricorn

The conflict of order and chaos sneaks up on us this morning and can make us wonder just how productive it is possible to be when Mercury, though in its exalted domicile of Virgo, opposes mighty Neptune in its domicile of Pisces. These are very contradicting influences that can bring missteps, confusion, disillusionment, forgetfulness, and thick brain fog. While Mercury’s tenure through Virgo can be extremely productive, its opposition to Neptune is best surrendered to. This can help us lower our expectations for what could otherwise be accomplished today.

While surrendering to the blinding fog in our heads, we can perhaps take some time to still analyze and consider just exactly what it is about our close relationships that challenges us to improve them. Certainly there has been some stubbornness and righteousness displayed in our relationships, possibly firing up our own stubbornness and righteousness to make matters worse. The silver lining here is a Grand Earth Trine to settle our differences of opinion with designing pragmatic and workable solutions to any conflicts we are involved in.

Mercury in Virgo trine Pluto in Capricorn

Moon in Gemini trine Sun in Libra

We gain traction again today and find rejuvenating incentive to overcome the obstacles that have impeded our growth. We can wake up feeling like the world is on the right side of our dreams and desires, possibly even flooding our hearts and minds with exciting new ideas about how to bring it all through to fruition. Of course we must understand the inevitability of the hard work, dedication, time management, and setbacks we will face along the way, but if our hearts are passionate for our dreams to come true, the journey can seem much less gruesome than if they were not.

This would be a great evening to socialize, discuss fascinating topics, and revel in the congruity that good friendships bring to our lives, because there is no shortage of luminosity to dispel whatever darkness may be lurking in the shadows from yesterday. Just remember that “when life looks like easy street there is danger at your door.” (Robert Hunter)

Mars conjunct Moon’s South Node in Libra

*Mercury ingresses Libra*

Moon in Gemini trine Mars in Libra

Whatever relational matters we have been toiling over for however long could encounter some assertive proclamations today. We may get tangled in a web of disputing old rationales that no longer hold court with either our desired trajectory or someone else’s. This can be a not-so-subtle amplification of Mars’s influence on our relationships while transiting Libra. The lesson is to find it in us to hold space and listen to others while rising above not just our own potentially stubborn rationales, but also our long-held opinions on the matters at hand. This gives much more clarity through the mire of the situation, whatever it is.

The bonus is that Mercury ingresses Libra and the Gemini Moon rolls into a trine to Mars shortly afterwards, hopefully instilling some productive conversations into the night. Just be keenly aware that these will be prone to some fanning of the flames. Thwarting those flames requires mutual tact and diplomacy, so be sure to share those intentions ahead of time, reminding one another that the desired outcome is understanding one another better. We must learn to share our dark corners with each other while maintaining composure, compassion, and love.

Moon in Cancer square Mercury in Libra

Moon in Cancer trine Saturn in Pisces

The Cancer Moon acts as a mediator today between Mercury and Saturn, teaching us to embrace the value of nurturing our loved ones and reveling in the emotional tides that rock us to and fro...not too fast and not too slow. We might feel inclined to argue about the dissolution of determination, ambition, incentive, or productivity that has been plaguing many of us over the past year, likely resulting in some version of chaotic structure and routine in our lives and in our relationships.

The Moon offers a blessing to make amends, find peace, and not get snagged in the tit-for-tat that often accompanies over-analyzation and undue, stress-inducing squabbles. Though this Cancer Moon can pour its emotional baggage all over the place if we are not careful, it will hopefully instead bring comfort, security, and emotional support to all involved. Be the nurturer and find the selfless rewards of doing so.

Moon in Cancer sextile Jupiter in Taurus

Venus in Leo quincunx (150°) Pluto in Capricorn

Moon in Cancer square Chiron in Aries

As Moon swims deeper into Cancer today, we should relish our sensuality by indulging in a culinary delight for lunch. Or maybe we will feel like intimately indulging in that sensuality. Whatever the case, there is a cozy blanket of affection and sustenance that envelopes our morning and afternoon. May our wrapping ourselves in this blanket support us for the rest of the day ahead.

The quagmires of egoic inflation should be enough to teach us to keep that sort of inflation in check, but often that goes by the wayside, sending us down avenues of shame and despair. When we are at odds with others, it is difficult to set aside our righteous masks and find a willingness to hear and appreciate their story. This is not to say we are to face contention from others today, but the difficulties and trauma we have suffered sometimes is not fully recognized or empathized by those we expect to nurture us. At the very least, we should be the ones recognizing and empathizing with their suffering. After all, we all learn by example.

These sort of challenges prepare us for bigger challenges that may cross our road up ahead. They teach us how to navigate the complex intricacies of individuals relating to other individuals. Exploring individuality is paramount to understanding others, because we all want to be individuals, but many of us are afraid to unabashedly embrace what that means completely. Forgiveness and redemption are the hallmarks of piety and divine love. Practices that dispel fear in the most self-conscious of times.

Moon in Cancer square its nodes

Moon in Cancer trine Neptune in Pisces

Moon in Cancer square Mars in Libra

Moon in Cancer opposite Pluto in Capricorn

The tide is high and we’re holding on! Because if we are not holding on to the railing on the bow of our ship, we are surely going to fly across the foredeck or end up overboard. It will be quite easy to get lost in our emotions today, as the Cancer Moon is activated by myriad planets. Without diving into the sea with each of them, let’s just say we should be extremely vigilant and keen to dissect the swells that rock our boat today. From observing our position and setting our course, to communing with the sea for its mercy, to nurturing and supporting each other’s assertions, to comfortingly lifting others up to overcome their burdens. This is the thunder that moans from leagues below. Be kind, caring, and supportive to yourself and others today.

Opportunities, new things coming to light, and a deeper understanding of our relationships and loved ones are all packed into this week. We may stumble and fall, but there are friends and loved ones who can be there for us. The road to redemption is nearly always fraught with reasons to be on that road in the first place, but sometimes this is how we get to where we are going. May we find the mercy and compassion to help ourselves and to help others on their long and winding roads to redemption.
